The short version
YAF Academy gives general financial education: courses, quizzes, tools and templates. It does not recommend any specific financial product and is not advice under the FAIS Act. Sessions with an adviser are given under that adviser's own FSP licence and terms.
You must be 16 or older to open an account, and you are responsible for keeping your password safe. Keep your details accurate, and use YAF for your own learning only.
Money Builder and Money Circle are billed monthly in advance, on the same date each month, at the price shown on the plans page when you join. We will give you at least 20 business days' notice by email before any price change.
A free trial lasts 3 days. If you do not cancel before it ends, your plan starts and the first month is billed.
Workshops are a once-off fee: per workshop, or for a pack of 3 at a lower price, paid when you buy. Seats in a pack can be used for any workshop in the following 12 months.
Cancelling a plan. Cancel at any time from Me > My plan, or by messaging us. No cancellation fee is charged. Your plan stays active until the end of the month already paid for, then moves to the free Money Starter plan. Your courses, certificates and budget stay in your account.
Cooling-off. If you cancel within 7 days of your first payment for a plan, we refund that payment in full, as the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act allows.
Partial months. After the cooling-off period, we do not refund part of a month already started.
Workshops. Cancel up to 48 hours before a workshop for a full refund, or move to a later date at no cost. Later than that, we can move you to another date but cannot refund.
Shop items. Digital downloads cannot be returned once downloaded. If a file does not work, tell us and we will fix or refund it.
Certificates are certificates of completion. They show you finished a YAF course and passed its quizzes. They are not an accredited qualification.
We keep only what we need to run your account, and never sell it. You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time. Marketing emails are only sent if you tick the box to receive them, and every email has an unsubscribe link. The privacy notice has the details.
